Silver/Gold Vibration "Tu/Ib" 2022

These two shapes composed of a series of almost parallel lines are drawn in silver and gold on charcoal paper. Each work has a unique pattern.

The fusion of these two evenly spaced line fields is shown like the result of a scientific experiment - a hidden algorithm hinted at by the rulers at the outer edge of the piece.

The broad silver and gold lines present a strong contrast on the charcoal background.

Buying options

White plastic frame (24×18cm, white)

Basic but stylish plastic frame with glass protection. Table top or wall display.

60 €

Unframed (fits a standard 24×18cm frame)

This piece works well unframed too. And if you change your mind, you can always frame it yourself.

55 €

If you live outside of western Europe, shipping costs for the framed version will be at least 20 euros so it's more interesting to frame it yourself. I don't make money on the frames :)

About the "Vibrations" series

Back to the artwork

Made to order

The artwork will be made specially for you when I receive the order. I do not prepare artworks in advance because I am always improving small details both in code and during the crafting process. The exact creation date will be drawn on the back of the work (along with my monogram and the title).

Unique pattern

Each "Vibration" has a set of rules that is common to all artworks bearing the same title. The individual details are random and form a unique pattern that will never be repeated for any other work. The precise pattern will be archived with your order and can be drawn again only for you, if you want a duplicate or need a replacement for example.

Rough paper

This series is drawn on extremely heavy watercolour paper that is almost 2mm thick. It can stand on its own without bending if left unframed and you are encouraged to pick it up and feel the paper (with clean hands obviously). This 100% cotton rough paper is made by the french company Arches and its weight is 850gsm (or 400lbs). Please note that the paper is natural and thus not completely white.

Signed on the back

My monogram "Ö" is written on the back of the work. It is the only element drawn by hand - all the rest is done by a drawing machine. For these minimal pieces I usually prefer not to sign it in front because I feel it distracts from the actual work. But you can of course request it if you prefer.

Care

The technique used here (ink on paper) is very durable. I suggest displaying it in a glassless frame or maybe even unframed depending on where you will display it. It should be kept away from direct sunlight and anything liquid. If needed you can gently dust it off with a soft brush.
